My friend has a senior in high school. He showed me invitations, fliers, catalogs, announcements, etc. from a large number of colleges that are vying for his sons enrollment. The stack was at least a foot high!! This kid is average at best and does not possess any superstar sports status for scholarships either.
Are colleges around America desperate to make money ? By all indications it sure appears to be the case.

All these colleges care about is money these days. They would do whatever it takes to earn attention such as advertisemnts, fliers, and so on. After you start going to that college, you start to realize that it ain’t all that serious like they say it is.
The literature you have to do is apply youll get students enrolled they lose money.
Very true. They are more like business rather than school. They sale degrees.
