Can I make it to the NBA without playing in High School?
My dream is to make it to the NBA and I don’t want to tryout for my school team because there is alot of people I don’t like and I don’t want to be teamates with them. I’m trying out for another league that has nothing to do with my school called P.A.L. (Police Athletic League). Can I get a scholarship for basketball without trying out for a High School team? Can a college accept me?

Why do people get into college on sports abilties in this country when most countries don’t allow it?
Why do people get into college on sports abilties in this country when most countries don’t allow it?
I don’t think this makes much sense I mean sports are just sports and the fact that we have sports scholarships here in this country is ridiculous! People who are jocks are generally arrogant pricks with no intelligence and they get into college for their athletic abilties! Let’s take places that are culturally similar to us like any European country, England, Germany those countries do not have athletic scholarships. So why do we allow it in this country?

When sports are involved, are American colleges just part of the entertainment industry?
They pay kids with scholarships to entertain fans to make money, most of which gets reinvested in the sports programs to make more money.
All the while, they push kids into either athletic majors or sociology or something that requires little coursework. Many of them, like the University of Oklahoma, they are not even in with the rest of the students in their basic general education classes. They have sections of math English, history, and so on of just athletes.
Is this the business model of a serious learning institution or an entertainment company?
